UC Graduate Student Featured in Pharmacy Today
Charleston, WV – Jamie Bennett, UCSOP graduate (Class of 2014) is featured on the cover of the April Pharmacy Today national magazine. Bennett, clinical services leader for Fruth Pharmacy, is featured in an in-depth article the value of point-of-care testing, and its role in fighting opioid abuse and its related issues, such as the hepatitis C virus.

“POCT has been integrated into our curricular and co-curricular programming since we received a grant from NACDS to support our efforts several years ago,” stated Michele Easton, UC School of Pharmacy Dean. “Special thanks to Gannett Monk, Ron Ramirez, Karrie Murphy and others who have guided the implementation of POCT into our pharmacy skills lab restructuring as well as offered POCT services at health fairs and community outreach events. We will continue to offer POCT certification to pharmacists and do what we can to make POCT as mainstream in our profession and the expectation of our services offered by the public of the public as our provision of OTC recommendations.”
