UC Coach Wright Named Assistant Athletic Director for Recruitment and Retention
Charleston, WV - The University of Charleston announced that Head Baseball Coach Andrew Wright has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Recruitment and Retention.
Wright will immediately become a part of the Golden Eagles Athletic Department’s Administrative Team.
“The success of our baseball program has been nothing short of amazing in Andrew’s three-year stint at the helm, and from my perspective, the difference that he makes as a leader on this campus has been profound”, stated UC Director of Athletics Bren Stevens. “His strategic and visionary management approach and his passion for NCAA II athletics make him the perfect individual to liaise between the Department of Athletics and other campus constituent groups. Coach Wright’s career exemplifies a commitment to academic rigor and a passion for ensuring that his student-athletes have a superb experience during their time at UC. What impresses me the most about Andrew is his integrity and the fact that he is always striving to improve in all aspects of his life.”
Wright will continue to serve in the role as UC Head Baseball Coach. Wright’s experience with developing recruitment and retention strategies for his baseball program will be utilized to bolster these efforts for the entire athletic department and the university. Wright has been invited by many baseball groups and organizations to present at their conferences, and he continues to participate in nationally known baseball-related podcasts.
