Statement on President Trump's Executive Order

1/30/2017

Last week President Trump signed an Executive Order that, if upheld in court, would suspend the entry of citizens from seven different countries into the United States.

At the University of Charleston, we are proud to be a diverse campus. We currently have 157 international students from 41 different countries.  While none of our students are from the seven countries identified by the executive order, we take seriously the safety and well being of every student.

As changes occur in our country's international relationships, we will continue to provide guidance as it is appropriate and daily words and actions of support so that our international students know that they are welcome, safe and cared for at the University of Charleston.
