All research with human subjects carried out by University of Charleston faculty and/or students must be approved by the UC IRB. No research involving human subjects may begin without express written consent from the University of Charleston’s (UC) Institutional Review Board (IRB).
All Investigators must complete or have completed the National Institutes of Health (NIH) training course “Protecting Human Research Participants”, within the past 3 years. A
current certificate for each investigator must be submitted with each application.
The IRB meets quarterly (August, November, February, and May). Special Meetings may be called on an as needed basis.
The following documents detail the procedure for submitting an application for approval of a research project. If you have concerns, please contact Dr. Rebecca S. Linger at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
