UC Nursing Pinning Ceremony
12/10/2018 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
For 10 University of Charleston-Beckley students, an important milestone will take place Monday, December 10, as the Associate Degree of Nursing program holds its pinning ceremony.
A pinning ceremony welcomes newly graduated nursing students into the professional ranks.
The ceremony will take place at the Raleigh Playhouse at 6:00 pm. Guest speaker for the event will be Daniel Shelford, Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at Raleigh General Hospital.
The University of Charleston – Beckley began offering its Associate Degree in Nursing in September, 2014. The program offers a unique schedule, allowing students to continue to work while attending classes on the weekend.
“We’re proud of the hard work of our students, staff and faculty”, said Dr. Jerry Forster, Chief of Staff of the University of Charleston. “Our weekend-only ADN program in Beckley is unique. It's an innovative way for healthcare students to reach their individual goals and for UC to address the very real need for nurses in West Virginia.”
